Tommy Bowden defeated Georgia Tech 39-3

Tommy Bowden (born on July 10, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama) is the head football coach at Clemson and is the 2nd best coach in the ACC (Top 10 Best in the Country). He is the son of FSU God Bobby Bowden who Tommy has defeated 3 out of the last 4 years. Lord Tommy has never had a losing season at Clemson and as long as he is there, he never will have one. (Clemson fans should realize this and should feel extremely blessed). Tommy is also two-time TWO-TIME ACC Coach of the Year. In the 2003 season, he became the first coach in NCAA history to defeat two coaches with 200 or more wins in a one-month span. During his first year, his Clemson team broke 46 school records. (Clemson fans please stand at attention and salute your Bowden)

Bowden has overcome tremendous odds winning and recruiting over the years at Lake Hartwell. Clemson fans don't realize this, but ever since 2001, Bowden has secured more and more big time athletes to come play at Clemson. And no, they didn't come to Clemson because they were impressed with the JoDon Reames house party they went to on their recruiting visit that was located 2 blocks behind the AGR house. The athletes and their "momma's" were impressed with Bowden because of his class, integrity, and graduation rate . The longer Bowden stays, the more "special" athletes he gets which = the more wins he will accumluate. Unfortunately, Clemson fans think the Great Wall of China was built in a day, so they tend to believe that Clemson should win a National Championship overnight. Tommy is married to the former Linda White and has two children, Ryan and Lauren (Lauren is so hot).

The Tommy Bowden news was confirmed to us before the Clemson/USC game ever started from a highly recognized influential person in Clemson's Athletic Department that Tommy Bowden was in their good graces and that he would not be fired whether win or lose to South Carolina. This article - Link - came out yesterday announcing that Bowden will receive a contract extension in the following weeks. "Your website has really focused and brought out the great points and facts of the miraculous things that Bowden has accomplished here in this redneck town," stated CU Athletic Department BigWig.

What a great and logical decision this is! I can't tell you how happy we are for Clemson. Tommy Bowden could be coaching in any state he wants, but he (hopefully) will decide to accept this contract extension and put up with all the redneck farmers wearing purple overalls in Clemson a little longer. Let's just hope and pray that he doesn't decline this extension and accept a job at Georgia Tech and start kicking our Clemson ass every year! I'm glad our website was able to highlight and influence the Clemson Athletic Department in their decision.

We have to admit, when things started going bad for Bowden and the Tigers, we did what any normal and true Clemson fan would do ..... go on vacation. Yes, we wanted to get as far away from the critics, gamecock fans, and crazy TigerNet people as possible. Plus, we made a helluva lot of money betting on the Clemson/Central Michigan game, so that's another reason why we went on vacation. Remember this blog - Link - I told you we were going to score 70 points, and we did. We were a 17 point favorite and Tommy Bowden defeated Central Michigan 70-14. For you crazy Clemson farmers out there wearing purple overalls who can't do the math, we won by 56 points and covered the spread. See .... even Dan Scott or Mickey "The Hardcore Republican" Plyler couldn't have picked that one. Plus we wanted to get the hell out of the U.S. during halloween, I hate having little kids knock on my door asking for candy.

Bowden is on the goalline attempting to score a great season for Clemson. You have to like Bowden's chances finally punching it in this coming Saturday taking his Tigers to Jacksonville. Defensively, Clemson has proved and played well enough to win every game it has suited up for this season and boasts one of the fastest, hardest-hitting units in the country. Not trying to jinx us, but it appears that the offense has arrived, and if it makes you feel better, we're a 7.5 point favorite in Vegas. We're tired from our trip so I'm sorry if today's post isn't as entertaining as some of our previous ones. Just when the dumba$$ website Steve Spurrier Is God thought they were riding high and fly, the Ole Ball Sack dropped a big stinky at home against Vanderbilt this past weekend. Seriously, Erin Andrews could have worn a wet "Go Cocks" t-shirt and called a better game offensively than Spurrier did. That's probably why they posted this blog yesterday - Link.

We've never had any beef with Spurrier before and we totally agree with him that no "booing" should ever take place at a college football game. In fact, of the 2 1/2 years Spurrier has been at USC, this may be his first game he's had no business losing (unless you consider the bowl loss to Missouri in 05' a failure). No, no, no .... we don't hate Spurrier at all, and we almost feel bad that the chicken curse killed the only sign of hope that gamecock fans had of making it to the SEC Championship game. Their run lasted for a while but finally came to an end. This is nothing new to gamecock fans though. You have all watched your alma mater win some and lose some, and you've all drank after a win and drank after a loss. Hell, if your a Carolina fan, and unless your name is this guy, you've all attended USC for college before, right?

Why is everyone so upset right now? We just had a bye week and lost to the #11 Virginia Tech Hokies who got lucky on two special teams plays where the officials missed a block in the back penalty on both. We're sitting 7-2 right now (if you include wins against Central Michigan, Duke, and South Carolina), we have the #3 Boston College Eagles coming into Death Valley in a few weeks where Clemson will probably be the favorite, and we have a good but not great Wake Forest team coming into Death Valley. The only game I'm scared of is playing at Maryland. The Fridge has kind of had Tommy Bowden's number over the past few years and they're not a bad team at all this year. Either way, the Clemson supporters have spoken. If Tommy Bowden wins at least 9 games, 50% of the fans say he deserves to come back. I hope Clemson Athletic Director Terry Don Phillips takes noticed of this.

By the way, we will score more than 63 points this coming Saturday against Central Michigan. If you think 63 is a lot, it's not ...... Tommy Bowden and Charlie Whitehurst put 63 points up at South Carolina in 2003. Go Tommy! Go Tigers'!

Kinda Funny How Clemson Fans Forget So Easily

The TBIG mailbag has been receiving a lot of hateful and borderline threatening letters over the past couple of weeks that even make us fearful for our lives (and you know how gangsta we are). It's one thing to have someone say their gonna kick your ass, but when you have a dumbass redneck farmer wearing purple tell you he's gonna kick your ass, you def. don't take it too lightly. I will be the first to admit that I am questioning my faith in Tommy Bowden right now as well. As the way it looks, there won' be a Tommy Bowden fat-head made for next year, there won't ever be a Tommy Bowden Statue placed inside the WestEndzone, and the Tommy Bowden Wikipedia entry that will be updated at the end of the year won't be to my liking as well. We'll see how the season plays out though, we're not throwing anyone under the bus just yet.

As I sat in my seats - Section R, Row FF, Seats 6 and 8 - one of the Clemson fans (probably a Tigernet nutjob) behind me acted totally out of line the entire ballgame. For every normal word that came out of his mouth, he would have 4 cuss words behind it. Honestly, all I heard were sentences like: mother f-er b!tch stupid a$$. Oh yea, and 2 minutes into the ballgame, he tried to start a fight with a VT Fan! There was actually a peaceful moment there for about 5 minutes when the man behind me left his seat to go to the little boy's room. Luckily for Tiger Nation I didn't see any 4 or 5 star recruits sitting around us who could hear that clown (and yes, Tommy Bowden normally has a lot of 4 and 5 star recruits visiting Clemson on a weekly basis). We're not 100% sure if the season will get turned around and if the players will start executing or not but there is one thing we do know: We won't know a decision on Bowden till the end of the year, so Clemson fans better suck it up and get behind Bowden and our team and stop hurting our chances in recruiting. What if Clemson goes 8-4, and their 4 losses are VT, GT, USC, and BC? 3 out of those 4 teams are in the Top 15. Does Tommy keep his job?

My Crystal Ball has been 100% correct so far. Clemson is 3-0 heading to the Textile Bowl against N.C. State this weekend and Tommy Bowden is a big reason for this. A lot of Clemson fans aren't worried about this game but instead are already looking ahead towards Sept. 29 @ Georgia Tech. Damnit, if I see one Clemson fan on TigerNet this week talking about our game against Georgia Tech and not NC State I swear I might break something. This is not going to be an easy game and in my opinion having the "Lincoln Financial Sports' curse broadcasting the game, it's going to be all we can do to come out with a "W." Just knowing that we have to play at noon with Mike Hogwood, Doc Walker, and Steve Martin announcing our game this week makes me want to puke! I have nothing against the network in general, and I have nothing against the announcers ...... until Clemson plays a game on one of their broadcasts. I swear these announcers have a curse on Clemson whenever we play an ACC road game. Seriously, if the spread opens up today at 8 points or higher for Clemson, bet the house on N.C. State to cover. I know most of you read my website because of the sillyness and gangsta like attitude, but today's post really needed to be written in a serious tone. We have now learned that maybe N.C. State isn't all that bad. They lost by two points to Central Florida in Week 1, we now learn that wasn't a bad loss at all considering Central Florida had Texas all but beat this past week. N.C. State also lost to BC in Week 2 - we now know BC is the real deal after dominating Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Saturday. This is Cullen Harper's first game on the road as a starter, I honestly think it would be best for me not to watch this game on Saturday. Oh yea, did I mention this is a must win game ACC game for State considering they're already 0-2 in the conference?

Columbia - USC linebacker John Guerry was arrested Saturday night in Athens and charged with underage consumption of alcohol and an open container violation. According to an Athens-Clarke County Police report, the 20-year old Guerry was seen hiding a beer bottle while walking down a public street in Athens Saturday at 2:00am. After being spotted, the report says Guerry threw the bottle into the garbage and then acknowledged that he was 20 years old. A week ago today after Clemson thrashed Florida State, an article written by ESPN writer Mark Schlabach appeared on www.espn.com titled "High-priced coaches won't matter without talent." The case he's trying to make is this: no matter how good of a coach you are, or coaches you have surrounding you, you won't be great if you don't have talent. I agree with this assessment to an extent, but when you place Florida State in that sentence, it does make one question whether or not you are on crack. What kind of crack do you have to be smoking to claim that FSU doesn't have any talent? That is such an outrageous statement that it makes you question Mark Schlabach's credibility, or his sanity. "But all the high-priced coaches in the world can't save Bowden's dynasty if FSU doesn't get more talented players. If FSU learned anything Monday night it's that it no longer has the best players in the country. I told you guys 3 weeks ago to jump on the Jimmy Maners bandwagon while you still had a chance. His accurate punting and his heads up play to take a safety when the longsnap went over his head played a big part in this win. Kicker Mark Bucholz did an outstanding job on his kickoffs. Great distance and accuracy played a key role in the field position battle for the Tigers. Aaron Kelly stepped up and made some big plays offensively and we are very pleased with his performance. True freshman Deandre McDaniel was all over the place making big plays. This kid can play and all the hype about him from his high school days are true.

If Georgia Tech and Clemson are both 4-0 heading to this game, there's only one reason why GamDay won't be there (Auburn @ Florida). Before going any further, I want all of my readers to read today's post as objectively as possible. A lot of research, thoughts, and gutfeelings have went into today's blog and I want everyone to value and respect my opinion and research on all 12 games below. Here we go:

Nov. 17 - Boston College - W - BC quarterback Matt Ryan gets knocked out in the 2nd play of the game and BC never recovers after that. 33-21 Clemson.

Clemson - Freshman QB, Willy Korn

We didnt, but a source of ours checked out about 30 minutes of the Clemson practice over the weekend and needless to say .... saw some interesting events take place. It started off with QB Cullen Harper leading the charge down the field with the first team offense against the 2nd team defense. Didn't look bad but we got locked down around the 20 and had to settle for a field goal. Actually, had to settle for a miss field goal. My source tells me that the teammates off the field started chanting Willy, Willy, Willy, Willy. Sure enough, Bowden had Willy Korn come in and run a drive with the first team offense against the first team defense. He said the kid looked like a stud! Around a 10 play drive, finished it off with a 15 yard touchdown pass to a receiver on a crossing route. He said Korn without a doubt looked like the better QB between the two.

I'm not one to base my decision on 30 minutes worth of practice, but it has become obvious on here which way I am leaning. We are still standing behind Bowden's decision to start Harper, but Clemson fans, don't be surprised if Willy Korn is starting come Georgia Tech weekend. Actually, it really won't surprise me if Korn ends up starting over Harper when Florida State comes into town. My gamecock friends are going to come on here and whine, scream, and tell me that Korn will piss in his pants against Florida State and etc ..... but I'm not really too worried about all of that. I'll say this, there's a higher chance that South Carolina QB Chris Smelley will piss in his pants when he faces the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette this weekend than Willy Korn will playing FSU.

Personally I wouldn't buy one. If these are available next year, I will probably just stick to the Clemson Football Helmet that I already have, but it wouldn't surprise me if these Tommy Bowden fatheads sell like a $15 Polo shirt at Ross's next year after Bowden wins the ACC and possibly Orange Bowl Championship. I want to thank everyone for participating in our online poll the other week. We care a lot about the input from true Clemson fans who believe in Tommy Bowden. Don't get me wrong, we are many years away from placing the Tommy Bowden statue in the West Endzone, but considering people who work for Athletic Departments tend to stay there for about 80 years, I have no problem planting this seed with Terry Don and Billy D now.

Personally, I put "Replace Howard's Rock with the Bowden Statue" out there almost as a joke because other than the west endzone and iptay office, I couldn't think of any other ideas where to place it. But sure enough, it captured 35% of the vote ....... VERY SURPRISING!!! There may have been some Gamecock fans sneak in and vote for that one. And yes, I did call them Gamecock Fans and not Coots. I voted to have it placed out in front of the IPTAY building but unfortunately the majority of voters didn't agree with that idea. Either way it's official, and the Clemson/Tommy Bowden Fans have spoken, the statue should be placed in the "West Endzone."

For those of you who say I'm crazy, let's look at the facts. Willy Korn has played on local TV and National TV more times than Cullen Harper has. When the going got bad for Proctor last year Rob Spence publicly came out and said that Proctor was definitely our best quarterback and we have to stick with him. A high school football coach told me that in the Spring game that Cullen Harper could only look at his first read. He went on to say that it appeared Korn was going through his progressions decently well. I've never been a Clemson fan to criticize Bowden for playing it safe, conservative, etc. But there are a lot of Clemson fans who whine and scream at Bowden for playing it safe. Amazingly enough though, when I talk to fellow Clemson fans about this situation on whether or not Korn should be the starter, there seems to be a consensus agreement that you go with Harper. I disagree with that judgement.

I like Harper, and I understand the whole argument that he knows the system better. I understand all he's going to do is hand it off primarily, and if Harper is good enough to throw just a little, then you should go with the more experience quarterback. Look, Stafford from UGA was about as highly recruited as Korn was. He didn't do great last year, but ..... he didn't do bad. And he didn't have a backfield with Davis and Spiller. Bowden and Spence .... do the right thing, don't play it safe, start Korn and let's get 2007 Clemson football off on the right track.

I realize you're probably just another Esso Club drunk who knows it all but let me remind you one thing .... just because you went undefeated in NCAA08 on PS2, that doesn't mean you can coach better than Bowden.

And if you want my input on the President Barker situation, I have absolutely no problem in our advisory board not allowing Dwight Jones sign a letter of intent. Obviously there were some things that proved to Barker and the Board that this guy wouldn't have a chance to make it academically at Clemson. Today's blog is an introduction to one of the best coaches in the ACC. Unlike Chuck Amato, Al Groh, Bobby Bowden, and Ralph Friedgen - Tommy has kept his team from dipping into the losing column over the last 7 years at Clemson. Tommy Bowden technically is not God, but he is a damn good football coach who has ran a super clean program, posted good records, and has graduated players at an extremely high rate. Tommy, not all, but some of the drunks over at the _____ Club and ______ ______ Tavern will yell, scream, and call you names. They'll say that you'll never be your daddy and that winning 8 games just isn't good enough. Their whole purpose is to try to intimidate you into stopping your gameplan. Realize this (and realize they're drunk) and keep moving forward. We are not part of the lunatic dialogue on Tigernet2 saying Tommy Bowden should be fired today (but they know he has a hot daughter they don't want to see leave). We are quite actually the opposite. We think if he wins 7 games or more this year then without a doubt, the sensible thing to do would be to give him another 2 years. We will begin July 16 posting blogs and common sense reasoning why Tommy Bowden is a good coach.
